Company History
Superior Air Parts, Inc. was founded in Dallas, Texas, beginning with a single product: a replacement valve guide for Continental aircraft engines. The part was manufactured with exceptional attention to quality and was designed to meet or exceed the original component at a lower cost.
Superior developed a detailed internal fabrication and inspection system and received its FAA Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA), establishing the foundation for its aircraft engine parts business.
As demand grew, Superior expanded beyond its original valve guide. The company began working with and developing supplier relationships to broaden its product offerings and capabilities, establishing itself as a growing source of replacement components for piston aircraft engines.
Superior received FAA approval for its Millennium Cylinder family, marking a major milestone in the company’s evolution. Designed with improved materials and manufacturing processes, the Millennium cylinders would become one of Superior’s most recognized product lines.
Superior began producing larger engine components, including crankcases and sumps, broadening its capabilities beyond smaller replacement parts.
Superior moved from Dallas to a larger facility in Coppell, Texas, providing additional space to support the company’s continued growth.
Superior acquired a key supplier, bringing additional manufacturing capabilities in-house and providing greater control over quality and production processes.
Superior Air Parts designs and manufactures more than 2,000 FAA-PMA-approved parts using modern materials, manufacturing processes, and quality-control systems.
With more than 100,000 Millennium cylinders in service worldwide, the Millennium Cylinder family remains a defining part of Superior’s history and reputation for quality and improved aircraft-engine components.
